72st Festival Puccini 2026

Puccini is considered one of the best opera composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Although he was almost immediately praised as an opera composer by the public, he had to wait a long time for recognition from critics. The feeling that he was in the shadow of the giants Verdi and Wagner motivated him throughout his life to surpass himself. His last and unfinished opera, Turandot, bears witness to this.

Since 1930, Torre del Lago Puccini (Viareggio) has hosted the Puccini Festival, an annual opera festival in the summer months in honor of the composer.
